Description of the project
In the middle of Stockholm, on Torkel Knutssonsgatan, Arena Tak was commissioned to renovate and modernise the roof of the Batteriet building. This prominent building, known for its two parallel hulls connected by lower sections, had problems with leaking, resulting in a decision to re-roof and install sedum. Newsec was the client for the project and also acted as end customer and dialogue partner throughout the entire process.
Challenges and successes in project implementation
A major challenge during the project was to carry out the work during the winter months, which usually involves a lot of snow and ice. However, this winter was particularly tough. In addition, we were under extra time pressure due to a tight traffic management plan for hoisting materials. Major adjustments and efficiency improvements were required on the part of Arena Tak to handle all the conditions this time. Many hours were spent clearing snow during the renovation work to keep the roof accessible. Despite difficult conditions and a tight schedule, the team succeeded in carrying out the project successfully.
