
## Description of the project 

On Stampgatan in Gothenburg, the property owner Wallenstam chose to expand and renovate the tall office building near Gothenburg Central Station. The aim was to save energy and maximise the use of solar panels. The solution was to expand the property with two new floors for more office space, while also insulating the roof and optimising the area for solar panels on the roof. A good investment for both reduced operating costs and a sustainable environment.

**A sustainable commercial property with solar panels**
In the project, Wicote used a combined solution of mineral wool and cellular plastic for the supplementary insulation of the roof, and a ScanRack system for attaching the solar panels. The result was impressive! A safe and sustainable roof area of 1,800 sqm with 292 solar panels, where the total installed output of 885 kWp is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 64,313 kg. The reduced energy costs benefit tenants while Wallenstam contributes to a sustainable future.

## Description of the project 

Växjö Municipality has completed an impressive new build of the psychiatric clinic. The property covers a total of 7,200 sqm, of which 3,000 sqm is covered in beautiful sedum. The architect-designed building with its rounded corners gives the property a unique and aesthetically pleasing character while contributing to a better local environment. TEQT’s subsidiary Kronobergs Tak was responsible for applying insulation and waterproof membrane to the entire building and then applying sedum to the lower part of the roof. This created an opportunity for the people inside the building to enjoy the green outdoor environment.

**Sedum project with challenges**
It was a challenging project and the property was shaped like a "figure eight". High demands were placed on the installation of the waterproof membrane and underlying insulation to create a secure foundation for the sedum to rest on. The roof construction was flat and the roof was built up with sloping mineral wool. The project resulted in a large, beautiful green roof surface for Växjö Municipality’s psychiatric clinic.

## Description of the project 

Project description In Fittja, which was part of the Million Programme in the 60s and 70s, property owner Willhem Stockholm AB chose to supplement insulation of its properties. The client’s purpose and the driving force behind the project was to improve the environment in the apartments and save energy. As part of the project, solar panels were also installed on the newly insulated roofs. TEQT and Arena Tak focused on ensuring a sound and sustainable roof where the solar panels could rest safely for many years to come.

**Additional insulation at height**
The additional insulation and roof replacement comprised 22 residential buildings with a total roof area of 9,500 sqm. Due to the limited height of the buildings, Arena Tak chose to use PIR insulation as it has a better insulation value than other materials. With a considered choice of materials, a good insulation effect could therefore be ensured despite the limited height. Combining additional insulation with the installation of solar panels enabled significant energy savings while giving the properties a significant facelift with a clean and modern aesthetic. A smart project in terms of operational economy and property value, in addition to the environment!

## Description of the project 

Soaring electricity prices during the energy crisis in 2023 triggered Öckerö Fotboll's need to be able to better control their energy costs while also utilising the space on the training hall’s roof. The hall, which offered generous areas at a good height with good sun conditions and no disturbances, created the perfect conditions for installing solar panels. With solar panels on the roof, the club was able to produce, manage and sell its own renewable electricity and thus take control of its operating costs.

**Durable solar panels on storm island**
The vulnerable location at an open and exposed location on an island entailed harsh weather conditions and frequent storms. To ensure that the roof would last for at least 30 years, it was particularly important for Wicote to use durable and sustainable material. 256 solar panel modules were installed on a roof area of 3,000 sqm, which covers the entire requirement of the hall. The solar panels were attached using Alkorsolar rails, which are secure and resistant to strong winds. The project also used canvas, which is a lightweight material that reflects heat, helping to lower the indoor temperature during the summer months.

Bus depot, Växjö In this project, Kronobergs Tak has contributed to making the bus depot in Växjö sustainable. The project included the installation of high-quality insulation and waterproofing, as well as solar panels and sedum on the roof.

**Green spaces and solar cells in combination**
The large roof area of a total of 9,400 square metres was covered with 3,000 square metres of sedum and 2,400 square metres of solar panels. This corresponded to 1,170 panels and an installed output of 3,729 kWp. Through this innovative project, the bus depot has now become an environmentally friendly charging station that also contributes to parking space and more sustainable energy use. An important contribution to the sustainable city and to a better environment for the people and animals living there.

## Description of the project 

Barkarbystaden has a new vacuum waste facility. The project included a well thought-out roofing system with a robust waterproof membrane that prepared the roof for solar panels. Arena Tak also installed sedum on the roof. This solution means that Barkarbystaden will have a facility that is both climate-friendly and energy-efficient. The facility is intended to serve 5,200 apartments in the area.

**Barkarbystaden’s sustainable vacuum waste facility**
The new vacuum waste facility in Barkarbystaden aims to achieve an environmental building certification with a silver rating. Half of the roof area is covered by solar panels to increase energy supply and thereby reduce the area’s climate impact. The other half is covered with sedum, which not only promotes biodiversity and water collection, but also creates a pleasant green area. With 8-12 different sedum species, this project contributes to plant diversity in the area.

## Description of the project 

Stockholm Quality Outlet in Barkarby, known as one of Sweden’s largest shopping centres with more than 70 stores and over 200 brands, has taken a step towards a more sustainable future. In order to make the outlet area even more environmentally friendly and reduce energy costs, the property owner, Savills förvaltning AB, decided to install solar panels on the roofs that had the best positions in relation to the sun. Arena Tak made sure that there were secure fastening options for the solar panels where needed, and that the existing 3,600 sqm waterproof membrane was replaced with a new waterproof membrane so that these roof surfaces were given the best conditions to last at least as long as the service life of the solar panels.

**Synchronised lifetime for roofs and solar panels**
Over the years, the properties have been expanded and further developed, which has resulted in variations in the age of the waterproof membrane. When installing solar cells, it is of utmost importance that the lifetime of the solar cells coincides with the lifetime of the roof and waterproof membrane.

## Description of the project 

In the middle of Stockholm, on Torkel Knutssonsgatan, Arena Tak was commissioned to renovate and modernise the roof of the Batteriet building. This prominent building, known for its two parallel hulls connected by lower sections, had problems with leaking, resulting in a decision to re-roof and install sedum. Newsec was the client for the project and also acted as end customer and dialogue partner throughout the entire process.

**Challenges and successes in project implementation**
A major challenge during the project was to carry out the work during the winter months, which usually involves a lot of snow and ice. However, this winter was particularly tough. In addition, we were under extra time pressure due to a tight traffic management plan for hoisting materials. Major adjustments and efficiency improvements were required on the part of Arena Tak to handle all the conditions this time. Many hours were spent clearing snow during the renovation work to keep the roof accessible. Despite difficult conditions and a tight schedule, the team succeeded in carrying out the project successfully.

## Description of the project 
Olsberg’s large production building had been expanded and renovated a few times since the 70s and 80s, and now a new project was due. This time they wanted to step into the future and install solar panels all over the flat roof. Olsbergs turned to Conny’s Bygg & Takservice who, during the roof inspection, found that the existing waterproof membrane was too old to match the service life of the solar panels. Together, they agreed that the best and most sustainable solution was to replace the waterproof membrane before installing the solar cells.

**Efficient transition to renewable energy**
Connys Bygg & Takservice took overall responsibility for the project, which was not without its challenges. It turned out that the placement of the solar cells was made more difficult by existing fire cells, which is why efforts had to be made to cover as much area as possible with solar panels and thus meet the requirements in the project documentation. With the completion of the project and the solar panels in operation, Olsbergs was able to generate renewable energy with the aim of covering the daily energy demand while reducing its energy costs. With Conny’s help, the transition to a more sustainable future was both smooth and efficient.

## Description of the project 

In Västerås, three companies within the Teqt Group have collaborated on a property owned by Ikano Bostad. Solid Tak, VTE and Solar Invest partnered on the project, where Solid had the turnkey contract and Solar Invest and VTE were subcontractors and responsible for replacing the existing roof and installing solar panels. Originally, the roof was covered with concrete tiles, which were replaced with new concrete tiles. The energy from the installed solar panels is used to power the property’s heating and water system.

**Collaboration and innovation create a sustainable future**
The property, which was built in the 1950s, consists of rental apartments. The task was to maximise the number of solar cells in order to increase the energy production used to operate the property. This was particularly important as the property recently underwent energy improvements, including the installation of geothermal heating. VTE and Solar Invest have a long history of successful collaboration, and this was the first time they worked with Solid Tak. The cooperation between the three companies went smoothly, which contributed to the success of the project.

Andreas has extensive experience of investing in entrepreneur-led companies and business development from FSN Capital (2008-2020). Former board member of Instalco, Green Landscaping, Nordlo and Roplan. Board member of Nepa (OMX: Nepa) and has previously worked for Deutsche Bank and Carnegie. Experience from a number of stock exchange listings, both as owner representative, board member and advisor. He holds an MSc from the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.

Anders has extensive experience of transforming industries and has been involved in the consolidation of the Säkra, Nordlo and JOBmeal groups, among others. In addition, Anders has operational experience from the transformation of Hissmekano (family company) into an industry-leading distributor of spare parts for lifts.

Torstein has extensive experience of managerial positions in the building materials industry. He has been Country Manager at Kingspan Insulation AS and National Sales Manager at Sto Norge AS.
